A poem

And congealed white is consumed;

ripe rose like old panties decays on the wood

a glossy red plum bursts open in his hand

and

oiled curls of sand-colored hair

duck fat glistens and blackening sesame

and, uncertain me.

Somewhere, sometime,

a tape degrades,

iron oxide falls away like May dust

Harley Guys at L&L

I ate at L&L tonight. A little boy, about 3 years old, explored his booth while his father (early 40s, in GAP basics clothes) waited for their take-out order. Two Harley rider-type guys (also early 40s) noticed the boy and addressed him. “Hey, little guy. What’s your name?” The boy did not respond. The father stared intently at his phone screen. Both parties received their food at about the same time. The Harley guys got on their motorcycles and watched the father put his children into his car. He never returned their gaze. The Harley guys revved their loud engines and rolled away.
